A new study has once again highlighted the impact of digital devices on young children. Researchers say excessive use of smartphones, tablets and other screens during early childhood may negatively affect language development, social skills and communication.

Experts explain that the first five years of life are the most important for brain development. During this period children learn primarily through conversations, play and interaction with parents and other children. Too much screen exposure may reduce these essential experiences.

Teachers and speech therapists report seeing increasing numbers of children who struggle with communication, concentration and teamwork. Many specialists believe that replacing active play with long periods spent on digital devices is contributing to these difficulties.

Health professionals recommend limiting screen time for children under the age of five while encouraging outdoor activities, reading, creative play and family interaction.

Researchers stress that technology itself is not the problem. When used in moderation it can be educational, but it should never replace real-life experiences that are essential for healthy physical, emotional and cognitive development.
