The 2026 Wimbledon Championships attracted a record 550,151 spectators, making it the most attended edition in the tournament’s 139-year history despite taking place alongside the FIFA World Cup.
The All England Club said new single-day attendance records were established on three separate days during the Championships. Officials credited the success to the first completely rain-free Wimbledon since 2019, together with the continued popularity of the famous Wimbledon Queue, which allows fans to purchase same-day tickets.
The tournament also enjoyed exceptional digital engagement, generating nearly five billion social media impressions while its global social media audience grew by 11 percent during the event.
Broadcast audiences remained strong around the world. ESPN reported its second most-watched Wimbledon ever, while the women’s singles final between Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova attracted outstanding television ratings in the Czech Republic.
The record-breaking attendance and worldwide audience once again underline Wimbledon’s status as one of the world’s premier sporting events, with demand continuing to grow across stadium attendance, television viewing and digital platforms.
