Chinese smartphone maker TECNO has introduced a new concept device that could redefine smartphone design. The prototype features what the company describes as the world’s first 0mm display bezel, creating an almost uninterrupted edge-to-edge viewing experience.

According to TECNO, the achievement was made possible through a completely redesigned internal architecture, advanced display packaging technology, and structural engineering that allows the screen to extend to the very edges of the device.

The concept phone also incorporates an under-display front camera, eliminating the need for notches or punch-hole cutouts and delivering a fully immersive display. The company has not disclosed detailed specifications, emphasizing that the device is intended primarily as a showcase of future technologies rather than a commercial product.

TECNO confirmed that the concept smartphone will make its public debut at IFA 2026 in Berlin this September. The company says the technologies demonstrated in the prototype are expected to find their way into future commercial smartphones, although no production timeline has been announced.

Smartphone manufacturers have spent years reducing display bezels, with companies such as Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and Honor pushing screen-to-body ratios to record levels. However, none has yet introduced a commercially available phone with a completely bezel-free display. If TECNO succeeds in bringing this concept to market, it could mark a major milestone in smartphone design.
