Samsung is reportedly developing a new budget-friendly wearable designed for users who want long battery life and essential health-tracking features without paying for a premium smartwatch. Recent regulatory filings indicate that the upcoming device is expected to be the Galaxy Fit 4, the successor to the Galaxy Fit 3.
According to documents filed with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Galaxy Fit 4 will retain a design similar to its predecessor while introducing Bluetooth 5.4 and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. The wearable is expected to continue focusing on heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, step counting, and everyday fitness features rather than advanced smartwatch capabilities.
Although Samsung has not officially revealed the battery capacity, industry analysts expect the new model to maintain or improve on the Galaxy Fit 3’s battery life of up to 13 days on a single charge. The combination of energy-efficient hardware and Samsung’s lightweight RTOS operating system is expected to remain one of the device’s biggest advantages over Wear OS smartwatches.
Current leaks suggest that the Galaxy Fit 4 will remain an affordable alternative to the Galaxy Watch series. Unlike Samsung’s premium smartwatches, it is not expected to include features such as LTE, NFC payments, or Wi-Fi, helping keep the price competitive. There is still no confirmation on whether built-in GPS will be included, one of the most requested upgrades from users.
Samsung has not announced an official launch date or pricing. However, the recent FCC certification indicates that development is at an advanced stage, suggesting the new fitness tracker could be unveiled within the coming months.
