Samsung is preparing the next generation of its smart ring, and one of the biggest expected upgrades could finally address a long-standing request from users—support for iPhone devices.
Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy Ring 2 is in development, with company executives revealing that the focus will be on improving the overall user experience through better software, longer battery life and deeper health insights.
One of the most anticipated changes is the possibility of iOS compatibility. The first-generation Galaxy Ring only worked with Android smartphones, limiting its appeal. Samsung executives have hinted that support for Apple’s ecosystem is being considered, although no official confirmation has yet been given.
The new smart ring is also expected to feature a slimmer and lighter design, making it more comfortable for everyday wear. Reports suggest Samsung is working on extending battery life from the current 6–7 days to as much as 9–10 days on a single charge, allowing users to wear the device for longer without frequent recharging.
In addition to hardware improvements, Samsung plans to expand the capabilities of Samsung Health with more advanced AI-powered health coaching, deeper integration with Galaxy devices and more personalized wellness insights. The company believes software and connected services will become the key factor that differentiates smart rings in the future.
Although Samsung has not announced an official launch date, industry analysts expect the Galaxy Ring 2 to arrive in 2027. If the rumored upgrades become reality, the new wearable could become one of the strongest competitors in the growing smart ring market.
