British actor Tim Curry, one of the most distinctive performers of his generation, has died at the age of 80 at his home in Los Angeles. His death was confirmed by his longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz. No cause of death has been disclosed. Curry leaves behind a career spanning nearly six decades across film, television, theatre, music and voice acting.
He became an international icon as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and was also widely known for playing Pennywise in “It”, Wadsworth in “Clue” and the memorable hotel concierge in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”. Curry suffered a severe stroke in 2012 that left him using a wheelchair, but he continued to work and remained connected with audiences and fans in the years that followed.
